Bunny Chow (known in South Africa simply as a bunny) is a spicy, flavorful Durban style curry made with either lamb, beef, chicken ar veggie and served in a home made hollowed out half loaf of bread. The origin of the name is unclear, but most believe that it came from a South African restaurant called Kapitan's which served the local Indian community who were primarily from an Indian caste known as Banias. Workers in the restaurant would call out the order as Banias chow and that became Bunny Chow.
