Being born and raised in South Africa has given me a foundation of foods and experiences that have stayed with me, and even though I've lived in the USA for more than half my life, those influences still linger within me.
After years of owning and operating restaurants and coffee shops, the pandemic hit and my wife and I had to close our physical restaurants.
That didn't stop us. We took our show on the road, catering events and popping up at various venues with a new focus: South African cuisine.
Our first stop was the Roaring Table Brewery in Lake Zurich with South Africa’s most iconic street food, Bunny Chow. It only took 45 minutes to sell out! Since then, we've been travelling all around Chicagoland, bringing a taste of South Africa to breweries, festivals, and fairs.
We hope to see you as we introduce braais and biltong, koeksisters and vetkoek, braaibroodjies and boerie rolls and a variety of South African favorite to friends here in the USA
